I came across your blog by accident when I Googled places to take my dog swimming. Your reading suggestions are great. I'm making a list. I'm also a bartender in Athens and love your "favorite customer" reenactments.

Where do you buy your organic soil and get your mulch? I've started (trying to) grow tomato plants and a few herbs, but I'm afraid my black thumb might be too much for the little guys to handle.

Cheers,

Hi Erin. Welcome aboard. I think you are like, reader number five or so. A trendsetter, you are.
So I got my soil from Georgia Ground Cover. They are way out Atlanta Highway on the right, after Sam's and just before Mel's.
The mulch i got from Harold the tree guy. If you bartend somewhere in town you likely know him. If you don't, your customers probably do. I honestly do not know his last name, but if you go to Fox'z somebody will put you in touch with him. His mulch is loaded with fish heads and worms and all sorts of good stuff.
If you only have pots or a small bed, you can buy bags of stuff from Cofer's Garden Center on Mitchell Bridge Road. You can get it anywhere, really, but the people there are knowledgeable and very helpful.
